To unknown land….
We follow the bright westward sun
beyond our home and past the horizon
with the wind pressing at our backs
and we hope with the aid of Poseidon
The open air is so thick with salt
from far I hear the sirens call
the sea she beckons us on
to unknown land, she lures us all
Ad terra incognita
Then as the sky turns as black as our flag
Cynosura will light our way
burning brighter than her brethren’s flames
in the onyx sky
Stars then veiled in dark black clouds
as the waves finally rest
the humid air thins, the winds cease their breath
a storm is brewing in the west
Waves crash down
sails are worn
break those oars
fight this storm
Lightning cracks in the sky, thundering overhead
waves yearn to wreck the ship and tear it limb from limb
razor winds cut the sails; water now floods the deck
still we push onward
Ad terra incognita
Then the sun breaks behind our backs
daylight from stern igniting our path
loose the raven, follow it with your glass
soon we will see land
Conquered ocean and surpassed our map
to dropp anchor at an unknown land
