BURNING BRIDGES……
Burning Bridges
It’s been years since the bridges burnedMost are fully destroyed
Still, a few are hard to avoid
Recently I’ve notice that some continue to smolder
Smoke and ash is left
No matter how hard I try to cover it up
It lifts from the piles
I’ve landscaped around them
Deceiving by a smile
Knowing it’s still there, all the while
New paths mark the place I once walked
A different conversation takes the place
With words I once talked
But, the remains of old bridges I once crossed
Still haunt…..
It’s been years since the bridges burned
Violent rage, heart brokenness, or change
Some reasons I wont explain
Events linked together in a chain
The chain is broken now
Pieces flung into the pile
Dangerously I sift through it….
…Just every once and awhile
It’s been years since the bridges burned
Not wanting to build them up again
Temptation is a battle I am equip to win
Trying to be satisfied
With the way things are
Sometimes that’s really hard
I refuse to let down my guard!
It’s been years since the bridges burned
I’m glad they are gone
I have the rest of my life to carry on
Examining the rubble
The bridges led me to continuous trouble
I safely walk without them
But sometimes I stumble…

It’s possible, but if that’s done in an attempt to forget the past, it’s an impossible task. The past is what made us who we are today, the past is in us like the rings of a tree, we are the result of our past and for that reason we can never forget it.

You are right..the past cannot be forgotten but you can put a barrier there(burning bridges).
The past is already done with, so you can learn from it, put it into perspective and most importantly of all, start to realize, I can put it behind me and focus on living right now.

Si eu sunt de parere ca nu trebuie sa ne uitam trecutul. Daca avem un trecut sanatos atunci si viitorul ne va fii la fel.
Imi place mie sa spun ca trecutul este temelia viitorului 🙂 si ca e bine sa facem doar lucruri bune in prezent, de care sa nu ne fie rusine, pentru ca ele vor devenii trecut… deci temelia viitorului nostru.
Viata e un cerc… pe care nu vom reusi sa-l strabatem asa cum ne dorim. 🙂

You are absolutly right…but sometimes you cant shape your future..the circle of life is not always round..there are sometimes little cracks in it..
